In a recent survey of Irritable Bowel Syndrome sufferers conducted by the IFFGD, diarrhea was reported as the predominant condition of IBS in 90% of the
respondents. When asked about their "most bothersome" symptoms, 43% of diarrhea sufferers
identified abdominal pain or discomfort. (1)
On an average basis, the frequency of symptoms
reported by diarrhea sufferers translates to over 200 episodes a year for gas and frequent
stools. (1)
Although diarrhea and abdominal pain are the most predominant symptoms of IBS, there are others that may bother you.
